overview
OCVIBE is an upcoming entertainment district built around the Honda Center, home of the NHL team Anaheim Ducks. It will include a theater, a food hall, outdoor space, apartments, hotels, working spaces, and more.

Our team was hired to build a compelling creative narrative to show potential partners how they could integrate.

a. challenge/constraint
As we engaged, OCVIBE hadn’t broken ground on the new district yet. They only had preliminary renderings and a temporary brand identity.

Despite this, we had to make it look real so potential partners could see the excitement of the district before construction had even began.
b. creative strategy
Using the renderings and existing infrastructure as our guide, we got to work taking the assets provided by our sales team and turning them into creative concepts to bring the district to life. With careful use of stock imagery and renders, we were able to tell a convincing story of the district.
b1. video
We started with an overview video to bring OCVIBE to life. We used establishing shots of OC and Honda Center with quick-cuts of stock video to build energy. We tie it together with a CGI flyover that tours the district, still images that show creative concepts, and motion graphics.

b2. storytelling design
With the presentation, we broke down all of the elements of the upcoming district and used infographics and concept images to bring it to life. We would rebrand this presentation and add custom ideas for potential partners.
c. result
Our work resulted in OCVIBE securing it’s first high-level partner in Concordia University. The partner and OVCIBE will start working together right away as the district gets completed, and then will create an outpost of the school onsite.
c1. customizing the pitch: video
After a preliminary meeting, we began developing the concept of a campus off-shoot onsite at OCVIBE called Concordia Center for Excellence. We created a custom presentation and video that used a combination of concept images and creative storytelling to make the center feel like it already existed.

c2. customizing the pitch :
storytelling design
To add some additional excitement around the story of the Center for Excellence, we created a short custom deck that illustrated the potential location, scale, and layout of the future offsite campus.
d. the music experience
additional creative strategy
As we delved deeper into OCVIBE’s value, we identified theater naming rights as a top asset. To that end we invented a three-tiered music platform that could begin right away, integrating Honda Center assets, and then would grow throughout the district and finally culminate in the naming rights.
d1. video
For the theater video, we cut video of performers of other venues with stock footage, motion graphics, and visual effects to make the music platform feel real. We brought it all together with Dua Lipa’s Levitating

d2. storytelling design
We followed up the video with a presentation that breaks down the music program. It told the story of how a brand could extend itself across the entire music platform
d3. result & custom storytelling
With the theater partnership, we got far along with a canned cocktail brand. To entice them, we created a customized video to show them how they could leverage the partnership to support one of their social initiatives.
